Special Issue

General Provision: The editorial board of the scientific journal “Agriscience and Technology” encourages all research that presents content substantiated through theoretical and experimental methods, adheres to the principle of originality, and contributes to innovation and advancement in the development of agricultural science and technology.

1.Special Issues (SI) of the Scientific Journal: Special Issues are collections of research focused on specific topics of particular interest. The journal's publication ethics apply to Special Issues (see link: https://journal.anau.am/index.php/anau/ethics), except for the provisions outlined below.

1.1. Special Issues are led by experts in the subject matter who assume the role of Guest Editor. A Special Issue is not considered a regular issue of the journal. All submissions to a Special Issue may also be published in parallel to regular issues of the journal, provided they are appropriately labeled as part of the Special Issue and are indexed within the journal collections.

1.2. Special Issues are the result of specific thematic events and therefore do not have mandatory periodicity.

2.Formation of a Special Issue: A Special Issue may be proposed by an individual or a group with significant achievements in the field of science and technology. The publication may follow a scientific event such as a conference, symposium, seminar, lecture, discussion, scientific experiment, an urgent issue raised, etc.

3.Submission of a Special Issue Proposal: When the aforementioned individuals or groups submit a written proposal to the editorial board, the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team first assess the feasibility of the initiative, then oversee the appointment of Guest Editors and the process of ensuring compliance of all materials with the journal’s standards.

The Special Issue proposal must include:

  1. The brief justification for the Special Issue (SI).
  2. The main theme and covered areas, as well as research titles that fit the scope of the Special Issue.
  3. The name of the journal to which the proposal is submitted.
  4. The preliminary title for the Special Issue that clearly reflects the subject of interest.
  5. Submission deadline. A Special Issue can remain open for 6–12 months.
  6. List of Guest Editors: names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID iDs (mandatory), websites, research interests, social media accounts (optional).
  7. The number of Guest Editors per issue can be optional.

4.Technical requirements for articles in the Special Issue are set forth by the editorial standards (see link: https://journal.anau.am/index.php/anau/ags), except for the following points:

  1. No limitation on the number of authors per article.
  2. No limitation on the total number of pages in the issue.
  3. Submission of abstracts during the event preceding the Special Issue is mandatory, presenting an informational poster is optional.

5. Procedure for Accepting Research for the Special Issue: The start of submission is marked by a call for papers or an official announcement posted on the publisher’s website along with a submission form. These documents must include a brief description of the Special Issue and motivate potential authors to submit their research. The editorial team’s role is to establish contact with researchers or provide a list of potential contributors.

6.The promotion program for the Special Issue may follow the Call for Papers (optional). Applicants should declare the kind of support they need for presenting research or promotional posters so that the organizers can also engage potential investors.

7.The Guest Editor Guidelines define the role of Guest Editors involved in the Special Issue process. Their responsibilities and ethics generally comply with the standards set by the journal “Agriscience and Technology” (see link: https://journal.anau.am/index.php/anau/ethics), except for the following points:

  1. The Guest Editor is responsible for the content of the Special Issue, while internal editors provide administrative support.
  2. Content compliance: The Guest Editor must ensure that all published content aligns both with the scope of the Special Issue and the broader scope of the journal.
  3. Additional oversight is provided by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the Editorial Board.
