Regulation of Soil Erosion in Case of Surface Irrigation

Abstract

Erosion processes are intensively developing in the territory of Armenia. To reduce the intensity of this phenomenon horizontal terraces are built, where agricultural crops can be grown. In order to reduce erosion caused by surface irrigation, specification of the parameters in the irrigation technique is required. To this end, it is necessary to reduce the length of the water run with the help of shortened furrows.
The latter make it possible to regulate the water runoff amount resulted from atmospheric precipitations and to accumulate the needed moisture amount in the soil.
